Very Youthful Company
Pangdemonium’s Very Youthful Company (VYC) is back for 2024!
Through this programme, teens aged 16 to 19* will perform The Laramie Project by Moises Kaufman and the members of the Tectonic Theatre Project, directed by Pangdemonium’s Associate Director, Timothy Koh. Entering the program as actors and stage managers, all participants will also get the chance to try their hand in costume design and marketing. The Very Youthful Company will begin with a series of weekly Saturday rehearsals from September through November.
This will then be followed by a daily intensive period in the final two weeks of November. Under the guidance of workshop guests and Pangdemonium staff, participants will hone their craft as performers and stage managers, gaining a holistic understanding of theatrical process from start to finish.
This is a unique experience for young theatre-makers to make theatre from a production and performance-focussed perspective. Acceptance is by audition only and is completely free to all successful applicants.
Signups are now closed.

“I walked into a nurturing and safe environment, yet one which allowed me to push myself to explore more about my art and myself. I walked away with an unforgettable experience and have made lasting relationships in this process.” – Dharshan Nathan, participant from VYC 2022
“One of the most fulfilling educational theatre companies that I've been a part of, I found a place of both security and freedom in the Very Youthful Company. I could trust my peers in the company as well as my director, allowing me to express my opinions and explore as a theatre maker in the setting of a performance. I've both met people and made memories that I will never forget.” – Zoe Rowe, participant from VYC 2022
“VYC allowed me to discover the sheer joy of theatre-making within a supportive and nurturing environment. Not only did it enrich my passion and cultivate growth as a performer but also provided me with invaluable insights beyond the stage – a taster of just how much effort goes into a production, including marketing, costumes, camaraderie, and more. This delightful experience has and will profoundly influence my artistic journey.” – Pearlin Chew, participant from VYC 2023
