Front of House Volunteer FAQ

1. Who is eligible to volunteer?

If you love theatre, we want YOU! You don’t need any prior knowledge, experience or background in the arts/theatre to join us. All you need is a pleasant and professional presence, excellent communication, and customer service skills.

2. What is the job scope?

Volunteers can choose to be Front-of-House support or operate the Merchandise table.

Front-of-House volunteers will take care of welcoming visitors, ushering, selling programme booklets, assisting patrons and other miscellaneous duties.
Merchandise volunteers will be responsible for setting up and taking down the merchandise station, selling Pangdemonium-related products and stock

Don’t worry! You will be briefed on the day of the event.

3. What is the commitment level?

There is no minimum requirement for your commitment. This means that you are free to sign up for as many slots as you’d like. This is on a first-come, first-serve basis.

4. What is the code of conduct?

Volunteers are expected to maintain a polite and welcoming attitude at all times so show off those pearly whites! Be proactive towards interacting with visitors.

Punctuality is a value that we appreciate, so do arrive early for your volunteering slot and come back on time from your breaks.

Do not use any coarse language, behave inappropriately, smoke while on your shift or consume any alcohol before or during your shift.

5. What should my dress code be?

We will provide you with a Pangdemonium t-shirt for that day. Just ensure that you wear comfortable shoes and black pants (jeans are acceptable but no ripped ones).

6. Will meals be provided?

No, but you can bring or buy your own food and eat during the breaks in between!

7. Why should I volunteer?

Your time will be spent meaningfully as you join us in making a difference in the community. You will also achieve the satisfaction of having played a part in the success, and gain great memories of this firsthand experience on the inner workings of a theatre performance.

Volunteers will also have the opportunity to interact with local talents. At the end of the production, you will be presented with a certificate of appreciation, upon request.

8. What if I am unable to make my shift or have to change it?

Inform the volunteer manager at least three days in advance via WhatsApp or email, with your reason of absence. It would save us a lot of trouble if you could find a replacement for your shift!

9. Will there be any trainings provided?

No, you will be briefed on the various roles and expectations before the start of your shift. Required skills will be imparted through on-the-job, hands-on training.
