Teenagers loved the simple riffs and chugging rhythms of the music that exuded aggression, energy and defiance. Rock ‘n’ roll stars had attitude, epitomized by the swagger, bravado, sexually suggestive dancing and raucous antics of Little Richard and Jerry Lee Lewis.
